Training day 31st July 2016

Training day 31 July

My first as training officer and it was a great day for the diving and social element.
Typically for us “thistlers” we mucked in sharing transport where possible! Some headed to site after picking up their passengers and some headed direct to Loch Long, Finnart for 9am. Everyone was sharp with the exception of Audrey who was early to set up Gazebo with helpers.
We had 15 divers including 5 OD’s for their first open water, and a total of 22 heads.
Mostly members and their family and 1 guest diver, Simon, who became a fully fledged “thistler” next day!
Diving was exciting, all our instructors and an assistant open water instructor giving their expertise to our OD’s.
I was so jealous being unable to get into water!
BBQ was arranged and all of the non divers and divers helped in any way they could.
Non divers even helped with the dive slate and Ciaran, Anne’s grandson was photographer for the day! Paul got some under water photos of one of our OD’s!
Weather stayed pleasant with some sunny spells and much was achieved with the diving, and out of the water with a fantastic friendly banter from all!
