On Sunday 5 March 2023 7 of us took the boat out for the first time this year and headed to the May Isle, launching from Anstruther. The forecast was light winds and some sunshine. However, out on the boat in the exposed Firth of Forth it was freezing say the least. The temperature temperature underwater wasn’t any better at 6 degrees. There were some adventures and minor mishaps along the way – a broken fin strap, a dropped weight belt (thankfully retrieved on a search by Rob) and a trailer which lost a wheel on the drive up! After one dive each everyone agreed it was just too cold for a second and we headed back to shore and some well deserved fish and chips. Sometimes even when the tides, wind and overhead conditions can all be in your favour taking the boat out can be a tough ask. We will venture out again when the trailer is fixed and the thermometer rises. The pictures below do show however tat there is always something to see.
